Ministries

The life of the church doesn't begin and end on Sunday Mornings.

We are called at all times to be part of the body of Christ by continuing to enrich our faith, welcoming others to join us, and caring for others as we care for ourselves.

Faith Formation

AT FIRST CONGREGATIONAL

UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

We have a vast array of programs for you and your family to get involved in or serve with.

We have a wide range of faith formation activities, chances to give back to the community, and a variety of ways to celebrate friendship and fellowship.

Children & Youth

Children's Ministry

Sunday Worship: 10:30 a.m.  on facebook.com/uccgrandledge/videos

The faith formaiton for children and youth focuses on combining participation in worship with age appropriate Sunday school lessons.  Children share the worship experience with their family.  The first Sunday of the month is an intergenerational service, which includes communion. The other Sundays of the month children begin in worship, then they have a special time with the pastor called Fresh Perspectives.  Afterwards, they go to Sunday School classes.

Seasonal Studies

During the seasons of Advent and Lent, the church offers additional studies and discussion groups.  These are led both by the pastor and by the Christian Education Board. These studies often engage more directly with current events and the tension between living a Christian life and the demands of the everyday, consumer driven, world.

Affinity Groups

In addition to our all church faith formation events, there are also smaller affinity groups that meet on a regular basis for focused fellowship and study.
